Public Policy Committee
The Public Health and Public Policy Committee of the Infectious Diseases Society of Ohio champions policies and initiatives that promote the health and well-being of Ohio communities. This committee is dedicated to advocating for evidence-based public health measures and legislative actions that address the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Our members collaborate with public health agencies, policymakers, and community organizations to respond to emerging health threats, improve vaccination rates, combat antimicrobial resistance, and strengthen health system resilience. Through education, outreach, and policy engagement, the Public Health and Public Policy Committee strives to create a healthier Ohio for all.
Objectives

Policy Advocacy: Engage in advocacy efforts to inform and influence health policies related to infectious diseases in Ohio.

Community Outreach: Partner with local health departments and organizations to promote infectious disease prevention and response.

Education: Provide resources and educational events to increase public understanding of infectious disease issues.

Antimicrobial Stewardship: Support initiatives to combat antimicrobial resistance in collaboration with healthcare providers and institutions.
